How CertSherpa makes money

Short version: display advertising, nothing else. Ads are labelled, chosen by a machine rather than by us, and cannot buy a verdict. Here is the long version.

Display advertising

CertSherpa is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers bid programmatically for the space; neither we nor any advertiser chooses which ad you see on a given page, and no advertiser is shown a guide before it is published.

Every advertising unit on this site is:

  • Labelled. Each unit carries the word “Advertisement” above it. If you are not sure whether something is an ad, it is labelled — and if it is not labelled, it is editorial.
  • Kept out of the reading path. No ad appears above a guide’s headline, inside a table or a list, or between a heading and the text it introduces.
  • Given a fixed space in the layout. Slots reserve their height before an ad loads, so nothing jumps around under your cursor as the page finishes loading.

What advertising does not buy

Advertising revenue has no bearing on which certifications get covered or what the verdict is. No certification body, training provider or advertiser pays for coverage, placement, a rating, or a mention. Sponsored posts and paid links are declined outright — that is a standing policy, not a current price.

Every guide ends with a plain recommendation, including “skip this one” when that is the honest answer. Several guides on this site tell readers not to spend money. That is the point of the site, and it is the reason the advertising is programmatic rather than sold.

Affiliate links

CertSherpa does not currently run an affiliate programme. If that changes, any link that would earn a commission will be disclosed in the sentence that carries it — before you click it, not in a footnote — and the commission will never be the reason a product is recommended.

Cookies and your choices

Advertising cookies are covered in detail in the privacy policy. Readers in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookie is set, and can change or withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Questions or complaints

If an ad on this site looks deceptive, or if anything here does not match what you actually see on the page, tell us — that is a bug worth fixing. Email contact@certsherpa.com or use the contact page. The editorial standards behind every guide are set out in the editorial policy.
