About CertSherpa
A sherpa's job is simple to describe and hard to do: know the mountain well enough to get you to the top safely, and be honest about which routes aren't worth the risk. That's what CertSherpa does for professional certifications.
The certification industry has a trust problem. Most of the "reviews" you'll find online are written by the same companies selling the training. They'll tell you every certification is "definitely worth it in 2026" — because they earn a commission when you enroll.
We started CertSherpa to be the other voice: the one that tells you the CompTIA A+ costs more than the sticker price once you count study materials, that some "instant online certifications" are scams, and that a few certifications genuinely aren't worth your money — even popular ones.
What we promise
- Verified numbers. Exam fees come from official certification bodies. Salary data comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics where it exists, and we label survey-based or self-reported numbers as exactly that.
- Honest verdicts. Every guide ends with a clear recommendation, including "skip it" when that's the truth.
- No pay-to-play. No certification body or training provider pays for placement in our guides or influences our verdicts.
Who writes this
CertSherpa is written and edited by Ammar Tahir, a systems engineer and technology founder with more than seven years of production engineering experience and a Master's in Computer Technology. He's evaluated and hired engineers across the certification spectrum — so these guides review certifications the way a hiring manager reads a resume, not the way a marketing page sells a course.
